There are certain situations in which we will represent a chargeback/respond to a dispute on your behalf, without waiting for your approval. These are situations where the Issuer, in accordance with the card scheme regulations, shouldn’t have initiated a chargeback/dispute at all:
Refunded prior to chargeback date (MasterCard & Visa)
All chargebacks/disputes received on transactions which you refunded prior to the chargeback/dispute notification date will be represented/dispute response created. It is important to note that initiating the refund prior to the chargeback notification date is not enough for a transaction to be regarded as refunded. The refund you initiate should be processed prior to the chargeback notification date for us to treat the transaction as ‘refunded prior to chargeback notification date. This applies only to fully refunded transactions.
Duplicate chargeback (MasterCard & Visa)
We will represent a chargeback/dispute if it has been notified twice on the same transaction without a reversal after the first notification.
